The villa

Timber that gives a little underfoot, air that's cooler than you'd expect at 630 metres, and the quiet of a village that's still genuinely a village. Villa Tanen is a traditional wooden stilt house on two floors, furnished the Javanese way — named after Tanen, the village it belongs to.

Rooms

Morning light coming in, a ceiling fan turning slowly overhead, and air cool enough at 630 metres to sleep under a single sheet. Six double rooms in the house, plus the free-standing garden studio Rumah Pojok.

Garden & pool

Three thousand square metres of walled green — and nobody looking in.

Food

Breakfast is included every day — and if you want, you never have to leave the table.

Three UNESCO World Heritage sites within reach — and the rice fields start at the end of the lane.
