The villa sits on Merapi's cool slopes (about 630 m), about 21 km above the city — between Borobudur and Prambanan, with Merapi's nature on the doorstep.

Do the rooms have private bathrooms?
Each floor has one bathroom with a hot-water shower and toilet — and Villa Tanen only ever rents a floor to one party, so whenever you book a room, that bathroom is effectively private. We call it the bathroom guarantee: book a single room and the other rooms on your floor simply stay empty, at no extra cost. You'll never queue for the shower behind a stranger — at most behind someone you came with.

The whole villa — six rooms, sleeps 12
Picture it: the whole wooden house hushed and yours alone, the family spread out on the big veranda at dusk while the kids get one last run of the garden, and not a single stranger's door in earshot. One floor — up to six guests, a bathroom that's all yours
The bathroom to yourselves each morning, no stranger's door opening across the hall, and — on the first floor — your own landing looking out over the garden: a floor of your own feels like a small private apartment inside the villa. You never pay before we've personally confirmed your dates. Every detail — dates, price and the account details — is put in writing beforehand. Here's how it works:
- Deposit: once we've confirmed your dates, you pay 30% of the total by bank transfer, within a month of booking.
- Balance: the remainder is due at the latest one month before arrival — also by bank transfer.
- Cancelling: you'll have the exact cancellation terms in writing before you pay — in plain language, no small print.
